I undertook this short project to practice my skills in 3D asset creation.
I started by drawing a few different concepts in Affinity Photo, in which I then picked my favourite and drew a front and side view image to use as reference when 3D modelling.
After that, I modelled, textured, rigged and animated in Blender. I did the texturing a little different than usual, as I tried the texture painting option (which I have now used in multiple smaller projects since).
When I created animations for this character, I treated it as if it would be an enemy in an RPG (in games like Dragon Quest, enemies will stand in a specific area until it is their turn to attack, in which they'll use a few different animations to represent the type of attack they're using).
Similar to the tree character I made, I tried to add some squash and stretch, as well as some exaggeration, to this character's animations.
Ghost character idle animation
Ghost character bite animation
Ghost character spell cast animation
Ghost character taking damage animation
Ghost character defeated animation
